Film adaptation of the Patrick Suskind novel. Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, born an orphan in the stench of 18th-century Paris, possesses the extraordinary gift of a highly developed olfactory sense. Growing up in abject poverty, he becomes obsessed by the idea of possessing everything the world has to offer in the form of smell and eventually resolves to create the most sublime perfume - for which he will need to distill the scent of a young woman's body...
