Amateur cooking competition. Three home cooks are pitted against each other as they try to make dishes using the ingredient boxes put together by Brian Capron.

Three enthusiastic home cooks are pitted against each other as they try to make a delicious dish using the day's ingredient boxes. The first test is to create something from a box put together by Coronation Street actor Brian Capron.

In the second challenge, James Martin selects the ingredients to go into three new boxes. They have to choose between a pudding box, a vegetarian box and a global box. Based on the dishes from this second test, James Martin decides who triumphs and wins Cook of the Day!
