Robin Hood and his merry men must foil a plot to assassinate the archbishop of Canterbury.

The story of Robin Hood (Richard Greene) doing battle with the wicked sheriff of Nottingham (Peter Cushing) and trying to thwart a plot to kill the archbishop of Canterbury.

Robin Hood goes undercover and infiltrates the forces of his sworn enemy, the sheriff of Nottingham. Whilst there, he stumbles over a plot to assassinate the archbishop of Canterbury, who stands in the way of the sheriff's plans to confiscate a dead nobleman's estate.
