As our gardens reach their peak in terms of grow-your-own, Gillian Russell and Dan Holland find out more about the wealth of fresh fruit and veg that's ready right now and what we can do with it in the kitchen.

Chef Michael Smith cooks live in the gardens at the BBC in Inverness. This week he's making beetroot risotto with a red wine stock and an open vegetable lasagne - great for using up all the seasonal vegetables from your garden!
