For many people, serial dramas such as EastEnders and Casualty are a part of everyday life. These dramas also feature 'deaf' characters from time to time. But would we be better served by our own recurring deaf drama series? Or should we campaign for better portrayal of deaf characters in mainstream drama? We speak to producers, filmmakers and commissioners from the UK and abroad to find out about the latest deaf dramas and what the future holds.
