A boy becomes a messenger for an upper-class woman and a farmer who are having an affair.

A boy is drawn into being messenger between an aristocratic woman who persuades him to act as a go-between in her affair with a farmer. Starring Julie Christie and Alan Bates.

1900s Norfolk. Spending the summer with a rich schoolfriend's family, 12-year-old Leo is drawn into being a messenger between the beautiful daughter of the household and a local farmer. But the couple's clandestine love affair has tragic consequences.
