Meera's best friend Jo Brand gives an anti-cookery lesson making bangers, mash and beans for Meera; buddy Richard E Grant challenges Meera to make a bread and butter pud, and reveals how eating at Meera's pad is a mealy-mouthed affair!

Over the food of her life, Meera Syal tells Nigel about how, as a rather overweight, unattractive youth with a twitch, she was an inveterate scrapper at school. She reveals how she writes all her own roles because it's boring being repeatedly asked to be a shop keeper, a wife in an arranged marriage... or a terrorist!
