Artists compete for a place at a grand exhibition at the Mall Galleries. Featuring a mother of two who never dreamed of being an artist and a student inspired by his grandparents.

44-year-old Kerri from Derbyshire was a part-time college admissions' officer and is a busy mother of two. Coming from a working class background, Kerri says that when she left school, becoming an artist wasn't an option for her. Now she's determined to make up for lost time and getting into such a high profile exhibition could provide a massive stepping stone.  

22-year-old Charles from London is an art student. His interest in the arts was inspired by his grandparents - a fashion designer and a jewellery designer - and his dream is to follow in their footsteps with a career in the creative industries. Will his oil on canvas piece entitled 'National Anthem' make the grade?
