An Austrian mountaineer finds himself in Tibet at the outbreak of WWII.

Drama based on the true story of a mountaineer (Brad Pitt) who finds himself in Tibet at the outbreak of the Second World War, where he forms a friendship with the Dalai Lama.

Fact-based story of Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer, whose attempt to scale a Himalayan peak is interrupted by the Second World War. After many adventures, he finds himself in Tibet where he befriends the Dalai Lama, gaining maturity and humility. But turbulent times lie ahead.
