Simon recalls how birthdays have never been easy.

Birthdays have never been easy for Simon, especially when the whole school finds out what he really really wants. Meanwhile, Ashlene meets a flasher.

Simon Doonan, now living in New York, remembers his extraordinary childhood growing up in Reading during the 90s where glamour was in short supply and his extended family were far from the beautiful people he and his best friend Kyle, known as Kylie, longed to move amongst.

Written by Jonathan Harvey and inspired by the book by Simon Doonan. Birthdays have never been easy for Simon, especially when the whole school finds out what he really really wants. Meanwhile Ashlene meets a flasher and Aunty Hayley feels loved and a whole lot more.
