Whatever their individual background or experience, the RNLI’s 5,700 volunteers all share the pride of pulling on the famous yellow jacket.

On the north Somerset coast, the Minehead crew come close to disaster in a challenging rescue of two walkers cut off by the tide. In Dunbar, on the east coast of Scotland, a boy has fallen from some notoriously dangerous rocks and has suffered a potentially life-changing injury.

On Scotland’s west coast, the Largs crew race to the rescue of a paddleboarder who has been swept out to sea by an offshore breeze. And on the Thames, the Gravesend crew are tasked to a leisure boat taking on water - bringing a 70th birthday celebration to an abrupt halt. Show less
