Dance champion and Strictly pro Amy Dowden teams up with people brave enough to learn to dance and then perform in front of an audience of friends and family. The stakes are high, as the rookie dancers have just weeks to perfect a showstopping routine, but they’ll have Amy’s help every step of the way.
Amy’s first call is from Richard - an aviation firefighter from Holywell, north Wales. Richard has a dream he’s kept secret until now: he’d love to learn Latin and ballroom. As a teenager he tried street dance but kept it quiet, conscious dancing wasn’t the typical thing lads were into. But now he tells Amy he’s ready to prove men could and should dance if they want to and has the perfect – if daunting - chance to do that. Rich wants to perform at the firefighters’ annual summer party, in front of 80 firefighters, friends and family.
Amy has just four weeks to teach him an ambitious routine. Rich shows promise but it’s clear he’ll have to loosen his hips and adapt to a totally different style of dance to master the tricky Latin routine. British dance champion Chloe Hewitt joins the mission to train Richard but just as he’s getting it, Amy raises the bar again.
