Ramsay MacMahon is in Dunure in south Ayrshire for a coastal walk in the company of journalist and poet Niall O’Gallagher. Niall shares with Ramsay his thoughts on identity whilst talking about his Irish roots and Scottish upbringing.

Niall reflects upon life and nature, Gaelic and poetry. He opens up about how he is inspired creatively and looks back at the poetry he has written over the years. He shares his thoughts on his career reporting on politics and the responsibility of the journalist. They discuss the area’s connection to the bard Walter Kennedy and question the perception of what the “Gàidhealtachd” means.
