The Europeans have won nine of the last 12 Ryder Cups, although matches on US soil, which normally take place in front of boisterous fans, tend to be more challenging. The last time the Ryder Cup was contested on the other side of the Atlantic, at Minnesota’s Hazeltine National Golf Club in 2016, the Americans recorded an emphatic 17-11 victory.
