Natasha and Gael are a stylish couple who love to host. 18 months ago, project manager Natasha and plumber Gael excitedly swapped their London lifestyle for a home by the sea. Whilst they love raising their young family in the Essex town of Leigh-on-Sea, the house has proved a big letdown.
The dark and claustrophobic downstairs layout of their four-bedroom semi-detached house makes social gatherings impossible. To make things more difficult the couple have conflicting ideas about the solution. Gael, who is a keen cook, adores his garage because it is home for his bikes and canoes, while Natasha would knock the whole thing down in favour of more living space. Meanwhile, Gael dreams of a sunken seating area, which Natasha thinks that would be a total waste of money!
Tactfully attempting to balance both design desires are architects Damion Burrows and Lizzie Fraher. Will they both be able to come up with ideas that appeal to everyone?
