When city life and work get too much, what you need is an escape. And there is no greater destination than Scotland. Ramsay MacMahon is a firm believer in this mantra and in this programme, he escapes to Rob Roy Country for two days.

Setting off on foot, Ramsay walks in the footsteps of Scottish legend, or villain, Rob Roy MacGregor in the stunning Stirlingshire landscape. Starting in Callander, the walk takes Ramsay to Samson’s Stone where a local tour guide tells him a story of giants. Continuing on past the Falls of Leny and along the length of Loch Lubnaig, Ramsay then, after a lot of walking, overnights in a loch-side cabin in Balquhidder glen.

The next day he gives his feet a rest and takes a trip in a 4x4 through the glen along Loch Voil and Loch Doine where he learns all about Rob Roy’s life before visiting the legendary figure’s final resting place in Balquhidder.

Nuair a tha gleadhraich is traingead a’bhaile cus dhut, chan dèan dad an gnothaich ach teiche. Is chan eil roghainn ceann-uidhe cho math an àite seach Alba fhèin. Sin beachd Ramsay MacMahon co dhiù, agus seo e a’toirt a chasan leis gu na Trosachan.

Tha e a’coiseachd slighe air an robh an gaisgeach ainmeil Rob Ruadh MacGriogair gle eòlach na latha, tro sgìre Sruighlea. A Calasraid tha Ramsay a’coiseachd gu Creag Samson, far a bheil treòraiche luchd-turuis ag innse dha sgeulachd air fuamhairean.
Seachad air Eas Lànaidh agus fad bruaichean Loch Lùdnaig, tha Ramsay glè thaingeil airson oidhche cadail ann am bothan an gleann Bhoth Chuidir.

Tha na casan a’faighinn fois an ath latha le cuairt carbaid tron ghleann ri taobh Loch Bheothail is Loch Dubh-aibhne. Tha e a’cluinntinn eachdraidh beatha Roib Ruaidh, mus ruig e leac na h-uaghach aige ann am Both Chuidir.
