The Noughties

Series 1

2005

Duration: 44 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Two EnglandLatest broadcast: on BBC Two HD

Angela Scanlon’s fellow time-travellers are comedian Russell Kane and actress Tracy-Ann Oberman. Together they explore all of 2005’s film, music and TV highlights, which include a new Doctor Who - back with a bang for the first time in years, with Christopher Ecclestone at the helm of the Tardis, until he promptly regenerated into David Tennant. Also new to our screens was The Apprentice, with Sir Alan Sugar firing off on all cylinders. It was the year that supermodel Kate Moss redefined festival chic and hit the headlines with her relationship with Pete Doherty - a relationship almost as problematic as the one Dirty Den and Chrissie Watts were experiencing in EastEnders. Love was also in the air for Elton John, Prince Charles and Brangelina – and the nation took Paula Radcliffe to their hearts when she won the London Marathon - in spite of an unexpected pit stop.
