Do you start off every January determined to get fit and lose weight then fall at the first hurdle? If so, you're certainly not alone! It’s much easier to tackle fitness and food with the support of others so why not let Fit In 5 inspire you to success this time round?

Weight-loss hero Tom Urie presents a new, five-part series packed full of information and advice, to help you to get fitter and healthier in 2019.

Fitness expert Ross Stewart and nutritionist Carla Robertson will on board each week, offering simple tips and setting achievable goals for the days ahead … Tom will be sharing his experiences of getting fit and losing weight … and we’ll hear from our three Fit In 5 volunteers Samantha, Paul and Alistair about how they’ve got on that week.

In the first programme, the volunteers visit the Active Health Exercise Lab at the University of the Highlands & Islands to get their fitness assessed and explain why they want to crack their health and fitness once and for all.

Ross discusses the barriers we typically face when it comes to getting fit and explains why setting goals is so important. He’ll be demonstrating three simple exercises can all incorporate into our lives and suggesting a walking challenge for this week.

Carla shows us how to make a simple, nutritious spicy lentil soup, perfect for kick-starting a fresh approach to food. Show less
