The first of two readings
In 1913 Geoffrey Courtney went to Russia as tutor to the son of a lady-in-waiting to the Tsarina, the wife of Tsar Nicholas II. During an idyllic 12 months he shared in the privileged life of the Tsarist court circle.
The extracts from the memoir are read by his son, the actor
Nicholas Courtney.
