Gardeners' World

on BBC Two England

from Tidmarsh, Berkshire Presented by Geoff Hamilton and Roy Lancaster
Over 25 years ago Bill Baker took over a two-acre garden with a very alkaline soil which he now maintains single-handed. He has planted it for all-year-round beauty by use of good colour, shape and texture combinations. His first loves are Lilium, and he has produced many new varieties. Despite living in a frost pocket he has walls covered with a wide range of shrubs and climbers and many roses. It is a garden full of mystery, with grass paths leading to new treasured areas; a pool, bog garden, rock garden and herbaceous borders.
