The crack of whips and the shrill sound of horns fracture many a frosty morning in hunting country. In the privileged past kings and princes sported here with hard-riding parsons and red-cheeked farmers and they were supported by half of London society. Out of the ground sprouted huge country houses and enormous appetites.
