7: The Coelacanth
The coelacanth, a mysterious tassle-finned fish, was thought to have become extinct with the dinosaurs. But some still lurk in the Indian Ocean, around the Comoro Islands.
German marine biologist Dr Hans Fricke descended into the depths to film these 'living fossils' and, for the first time, glimpses a prehistoric world of 400 million years ago when coelacanths and their kin first appeared.
