' Finnish ways with bread '
Moira Newman
In Finland, which is Moira New man's native land, bread is held in high esteem. The Army's ski-ing ' suicide squads ' exist mainly on bread during their long treks through the forest.
A small parcel was left at Broadcasting House the other day for Janet Quigley , who arranges these Women's Talks. It contained a sample of the famous Finnish ' bulla ' bread, which Mrs. Newman-wife of L. Hugh Newman , the broadcasting butterfly man-had baked for her husband's birthday party. Janet Quigley sampled it and voted it ' awfully good '.
