Benny Goodman. Julian Joseph profiles major jazz artists with performances from the BBCjazz archives. This week he focuses on clarinet virtuoso and band leader Benny Goodman , once dubbed the King of Swing. In excerpts from an interview he gave in 1973, Goodman recalls his first recording date in 1928 and the celebrated Carnegie Hall concert ten years later. With contributions from pianist Teddy Wilson and vibes player Lionel Hampton plus some rarely heard live recordings from the sixties. Producer Felix Carey
