Last of a three-part history of jet flight
Into Thin Air
In 1956 research began on the world's first supersonic airliner. Thirteen years later the first Concordes flew -one from Toulouse and one from Filton. This film traces Bristol's part in the high technology which turned a dream into reality and follows the great white bird's chequered career over the past 15 years. It ends with a look at supersonic flight in the future through the eyes of Sir Frank Whittle , who started it all. Narrator Peter Brown
