Ronnie O'Sullivan finishes his first-round match, hoping to improve on last year's quarter-final loss against Peter Ebdon and gain his third Crucible title.
Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White are also set to take to the stage today for their opening matches. Last year. White was thrashed in the second round in just 30 minutes by eventual finalist Matthew Stevens.
Stevens then went on to end Stephen Hendry 's hopes of an eighth world title with a 13-11 win over the Scot in the quarter-finals. Will either veteran fare better in this year's tournament?
