The first in a new six-part series of the fly-on-the-wall documentary following the training of would-be soldiers begins with a compilation of the first series.

Among the recruits followed were Guardsmen Peter Elliott and Mark Golding who managed to cope with the shouting at Pirbright, while Gavin Downes at Winchester learnt to keep his mouth shut, and Jim South in Sheffield had problems with his fitness.
