This time last year Venus Williams , singles champion in 2000 and 2001, not only dispatched Nadia Petrova in straight sets but also joined sister Serena for the first round of the ladies' doubles competition against Corina Morariu and Rennae Stubbs. After a wobbly start -the prodigious siblings lost the first set after a tie-break -
Venus and Serena found their rhythm and claimed victory with scores of 6-2 and 6-3 in the second and third sets.
