Part 4
Young Jolyon Forsyte has at last made up a quarrel which took place between himself and his father fourteen years ago when he left his wife and daughter June. June's mother died, and the girl was brought up by her grandfather.
Meanwhile, the marriage of Soames
Forsyte, the. Man of Property, seems to be foundering, for Soames cannot stand the coldness of his beautiful wife Irene. Moreover she is making herself too charming towards Philip Bosinney , the young architect who is engaged to June, and Philip is designing a country house for Soames at Robin Hill.
