Jonathan Miller on Reflection: Seeing Ourselves

on BBC Two England

Beginning a four-part series in which Jonathan Miller looks at how artists use reflections and - mirrors in their paintings. Miller explores how children learn to recognise their images in mirrors and how this helps them to form a sense of self; he uses such paintings as Velasquez's Rokeby Venus as illustration.
EXHIBITION: Mirror Image opens today at London's National Gallery, running until 13 December. Guest curator Jonathan Miller.
