Eye on the Forest
Film-maker Eric Ashby has devoted his working life to one small patch of England-the New Forest.
For 25 years he has shared the forest with its elusive inhabitants at all seasons - to reveal fox cubs emerging from the gloom of the forest underworld into the spring sunshine, wagtails perched on fallow deer antlers catching the insects of high summer, and badgers foraging in the deep litter of autumn.
ERIC ASHBY is affectionately known as the silent watcher'. In this, a selection of his best work, that ability to see without being seen is evident-the collection of wildlife portraits he has captured throws fresh light on one of our most popular forests. Narrated by Martin Jarvis
