A gang of ruthless hijackers pull off the first stage of a daring plot to besiege a mammoth North Sea oil rig. Within hours on the rig and the production platform, they plant explosives and make their ransom demand of £25 million.

The British government have to act fast and one man - the most eccentric expert in the underwater sabotage game - is called upon for the most dangerous caper of his life ... a deadly 11th-hour chess game involving hundreds of lives and trillions of oil dollars.
