That Was Then ... This Is Now

Martin Fry
'The beauty of pop music is its unpredictability' says
Martin Fry , lead singer of pop group ABC. Both he and his partner Mark White , have tasted the unpredictability of the industry - and have lived to tell the tale.
From his student days as a 'suedehead' obsessed with style in Sheffield, Fry realised he could be a member of a group after seeing a Sex Pistols concert. By 1982, their gold lame suits and general flashiness had taken them to the top of the album charts with Lexicon of Love, preceded by three Top Ten hits.
Martin Fry pours his heart out about Sheffield, having hit singles, the group's transformation into cartoon characters in How to Be a Millionaire, and his long-term illness - all this and ABC's hit videos too!
