Lords of Little Egypt

on BBC Television

Written by David Hughes.
Another showing of the film in which Mai Zetterling visits the Gypsies.
Every year in May several thousand Lords of Little Egypt - as Gypsies were called in the old days - come from all over Europe to meet for festivities in the Camargue, the remote 'Wild West' of France. Mai Zetterling stayed with them in a caravan to discover how these mysterious and often violent people really live among themselves.
