Mr. James MacKintosh
'Milk Production in England today'
The production, distribution, marketing, buying and consumption of milk vitally affect the prosperity and health of the nation. Of late years, vast st rides have been made in the effort to bring high-grade milk rapidly to the consumer at a low price. The importance of such efforts is emphasized by the fact that of the 1,117 million gallons produced annually, 888 millions are consumed in the liquid state: on this basis it is estimated that the consumption per person in England and Wales is approximately 0.44 pints per day.
