Horizon: Life on Mars

The first of two programmes exploring Mars and examining recent breakthroughs in the search for evidence of life on the Red Planet. The latest close-up images of the planet's surface suggest that, although average temperatures are now minus 70, billions of years ago there were rivers and lakes that geologists believe were once teeming with bacteria.
