An appeal on behalf of GUY'S HOSPITAL by EMILY E. P. MACMANUS , O.B.E.,
Matron of the Hospital
For the last three years the average income of Guy's Hospital from subscriptions and donations has been only E34,000 a year, and even with the income obtained from other sources, there has been a very large annual deficit.
If the hospital can obtain an additional £10,000 a year from King Edward's Hospital Fund for London, this will relieve it of considerable financial anxiety.
The hospital is also faced with the problem of rebuilding the two-hundred-year-old surgical block, the walls of which are beginning to sink. Unless the £214,000 necessary for this is raised, the surgical work of the hospital will be seriously curtailed.
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to The Treasurer, [address removed]
