Clifford Curzon (piano)
Sonata in D minor, Op. 31 No. 2
Beethoven
Ninth of twelve programmes
This recital and the next on March 2 (consisting of Schubert's Impromptus Op. 142) have been recorded by Clifford Curzon in the studio at his house, on « piano made about 1820 by the London firm of Stodairt. Although the instrument naturally betrays its age in a certain unevenness of action, it makes possible tfhe use of effects that are characteristic of the piano music of Beethoven and Schubert.
