The Wind of Change: Screen Two: Return to Blood River

on BBC Two England

Douglas Livingstone has direct experience of the tensions in South Africa. On a research visit there last summer, he was mugged within 24 hours of arriving in Johannesburg. Over the following week the East Rand riots claimed 600 lives.
Livingstone's plays are frequently based on trips to locations, such as the Australia-based Boys from the Bush, Drums along Balmoral Drive (set in Zimbabwe) and We'll Support You Ever More (in Belfast).
Return to Blood River features Kevin McNally as Terry, returning to his native South Africa after the murder of his father. He tries to restore family relationships, but finds conflict.
