This evening: Centre of Unemployment presented by Newcastle Trades Council Centre for the Unemployed
'Today in Britain more than 1,300,000 people are unemployed. In Newcastle, ten per cent of the working population are without a job. Are the unemployed "work shy"? Are they scrounging off the state? We show how workers have battled to keep their jobs and how once they've become unemployed the fight continues with the formation of a union for unemployed workers.'
