For the Schools: Science and Life: Living in Communities: Waste

on BBC Television

Introduced by a doctor.
Getting rid of waste presents a large community with serious problems. Certain bacteria and other micro-organisms can break down dangerous organic waste, but they must be provided with the right conditions in which to work.
This programme shows how scientific study of the organisms has enabled us to devise processes to cope with our waste.
