Comic Relief 1991

on BBC One London

Lenny, Griff and Jonathan stonk back with disastrous co-host, Viz's Roger Mellie. Tony Robinson reports on refugees in Malawi, and Rowan Atkinson's Mr Bean celebrates Red Nose Day in his own sad way. Plus Blind Snog, a kisser of a game show.

10.00pm Bad News and the Barrys
Barry Norman presents The Barry Awards to the funniest film comedians with clips from their funniest films. Nominees include John Cleese, Peter Sellers, Steve Martin and Woody Allen. Plus the first performance in five years by the baddest (and worst) heavy metal band in the world - Bad News - and the first Take it From Me, a personal review of Comic Relief's UK work.

10.30pm Ben Elton, Victoria Wood and Boozy the Snail
Ben Elton throws down some comedy in the studio. Victoria Wood sings her Smile Song. Griff reports on a disability project in Kenya - and the A-Z of Comedy features The Blues Brothers, Tony Hancock, Steptoe and Son and Boozy the Inebriated Snail.

11.00pm Stonktabulous Type Stuff from Harry Enfield and Hale and Pace
Smashie and Nicey (Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse) report on Red Nose Day from the studio of Radio Fab FM; Hale and Pace teach the world how to stonk; and the Red Nose Rock 'n' Roll Years features Smith and Jones, and Madonna (well, almost).

11.30pm Wild Women and Wildlife
French and Saunders take over the presenting with a cracking hour of comedy, including brilliant bits from Thora Hird, Rita Rudner, Ruby Wax, Beryl Reid, Hilda Baker and the Golden Girls.
Also the dire Mellie at Midnight and an extraordinary revelation of how Sir David Attenborough auditions the animals for those wildlife shows!

12.00 Battle of the Sex Gods
The evening reaches a thumping climax as Tom Jones duets with Theophilus P Wildebeeste. Vic Reeves stages a Red Nose Novelty Island, Steve Wright presents his listeners' favourite classic comedy, and more of Star Crazy! with Nicholas Lyndhurst, Rory Bremner and Glenda Jackson!

1.00am Late 'n' Hot 'n' Live
The running total sprints upwards, in hot competition with wild comedy from Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby and Joan Rivers. Julian Clary gets even more intimate on the phones as Lenny, Griff and Jonathan come up with the final running total for this night. But it's not over yet....

1.30am Stonk Till You Drop!
The comedy roars on with a jamboree of all-time classic sketches wedged together.
