Sir Peter Whiteley GCB , OBE, joined the Royal Marines in 1940 - In 1975 he was appointed Commander-in-Chiet ot all NATO's forces in Northern Europe. Today life for Sir Peter and Lady Whiteley is less military but just as busy. As Lieutenant-Governor and Commander-in-Chief on Jersey, bir Peter is the direct link between the Crown and the Island. In short he is The Queen's Man.
