The Second Sex: 6: Men As Equals

on BBC Two England

Five women on one subject: Men

In this, the last of the series, Shirley Abicair leads off the discussion with a quote from Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex:
"Society being codified by man, decrees that woman is inferior... inferiority was imposed upon her - and a quarrel will go on as long as men and women fail to recognise each other as equals..."

Her colleagues this week are all women who compete successfully as equals with men in their own fields.
