BBC Symphony Orchestra - Elgar Symphonies
Elgar's Third Symphony, completed by Anthony Payne , has been a staple of the BBC Symphony Orchestra's repertoire since they gave its first performance in 1998. Andrew Davis conducts a performance from the orchestra's tour of the Far East last year, and Piers Lane champions a neglected masterpiece by another English composer, John Ireland.
Presented by Martin Handley.
