A series of programmes exploring local history in the south and east.
An Echo of Applause
Colin Sorensen , Keeper of the Modern Department, Museum of London, says:
'I've always been fascinated by the history of entertainment, because what people did with their spare time tells you so much about them. Many of the places where Londoners used to gather to enjoy themselves have all but disappeared; but if you know where to look, there are still hints, ghosts of former pleasures, where echoes of applause can still be heard.'
