Film of the Week: The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case

on BBC Two England

starring
In 1932, the 20-month-old son of Charles Lindbergh , the first man to fly the Atlantic, was kidnapped and murdered. Lindbergh was a national hero and the crime became ' an insult to America'.
The police case against German immigrant Bruno Hauptmann was built on circumstantial evidence, and since Hauptmann went to his grave protesting his innocence, the full story will probably never be known.
Original teleplay by J. P. MILLER. Producer and director BUZZ KULIK. Films : page 7
