Golf

on BBC Two England

Steve Rider presents coverage of the first day's play in this year's World Match Play championship from Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey.

Twelve of the world's top golfers, including defending champion Colin Montgomerie, have assembled to battle it out for the £250,000 first prize, and even today's first-round losers will receive 150,000 - far cry from the total prize money of £16,000 which was on offer in the 1964 inaugural tournament.
Commentary is provided by Peter Alliss, Alex Hay, Ken Brown, Mike Hughesdon, Beverly Lewis, Julian Tutt, Mark Roe and Dougie Donnelly.
Coverage continues at 4pm.
