Cliff Michelmore covers the motoring news of the week.
Peter Sellers is the Master of Ceremonies at a Showbiz Car Club charity ball in London on the night the results are announced of the Daily Telegraph 'Car of the Year' contest. Tonight some of the motoring editors from all over Europe who judged the competition tell Barrie Gill why they picked the winner.
Twenty-five years ago this week the Guild of Motoring Writers held their first London Motor Show test day at Silverstone. Last Sunday Michael Frostick visited the 1972 test day at Silverstone to re-examine some questions at the heart of motoring journalism. Are road tests accurate and fair? Do correspondents protect the manufacturer more than the consumer? Can publicity men soften criticism with cigars and champagne?
