Play School: Useful Box Day

on BBC Two England

A programme for children at home.
In the story chair, Enid Lorimer
Repeated on BBC-1 at 1.30

As it's apple-picking time there's a lot about apples in Play School this week, including a retelling of the legend of the Golden Apples of the Hesperides. The picture book is the story of Babar, and Enid Lorimer returns to tell three true stories about things that happened to her when she was a child. She remembers a circus horse who liked hoops, a special doll's cradle, and the day she lost her sunhat.
On Monday you can find out how to make a ladder out of newspaper, and Friday's experiment shows how powerful your lungs can be.
